South Ridge Elementary

Arrival and Dismissal Procedures 22-23

The cafeteria doors will open at 8:50 am for those students eating breakfast and for our 3rd graders.  At 9:00 the main doors will open for all students to go to their classrooms and class begins at 9:10 am.  Dismissal is at 4:00 pm for Kindergarten-5th grades.  If you need child care outside of these hours, please make arrangements with the BASE program (Before and After School Enterprise) or other local daycare facilities that transport to South Ridge.

For the safety of our students and families the parking lot is closed to incoming and outgoing cars from 8:50-9:10 and 3:50-4:10.    If you come in before that time and park your car we ask that your car stays parked in a parking spot until the buses leave and the parking lot is reopened.  If you must leave earlier, please park in a legal spot on the street. Please do not block the fire lane. Please do not pull into the back (the bus lot) as that area is reserved for Buses and District Vehicles.  Also, please do not make any U-turns on South Street during Arrival and Dismissal.

Pedestrian Traffic in the driveway is prohibited from 8:30-4:15. We ask that all students and adults use the sidewalks and the designated crosswalks on South Street to arrive at and leave your destination safely.  The designated crosswalks are located at Curtis Pl and South Street and Burgess Dr and South Street.

Please use the “Kiss and Go” zone or other zones marked in yellow from 8:45 am-9:15 am and 3:45 pm-4:15 pm for pick-up and drop-off. In order to keep this efficient, please remain with your car, pull all the way forward in the lane, and limit your stop to two minutes. Thank you for keeping this process quick and convenient for our community. Cars may be ticketed if left unattended.
